The Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District (District) assists Hamilton County businesses increase recycling and reduce waste management costs through a variety of programs.

- Conserves energy – Recycling one ton of paper saves 4,100 kilowatts of energy
(enough to power the average home for six months).
- Reduces reliance on landfills.
- Creates jobs - The recycling industry has a total economic impact of 169,000 jobs and
$6 billion in annual wages, just in the state of Ohio.
