Air Toxic Monitor Standard Operating Procedure

TITLE: SIS - Air Toxic Sampler

I. Objective: To accurately set-up and collect a toxic canister using SIS-toxic sample.

II. Procedure:

1.         Hook up canister, do not open.

2.         Power on toggle switch in the upright position.

3.         Set the run set toggle switch to set.

4.         Press the reset button on the blue timer next to the display.

5.         The timer will display:

Start 3:00 1

Enter the time you want to start (12:01 AM) using the blue keypad, remember to specify AM or PM. Press Enter.

6. The timer will display:

Stop 5:00 1

Enter the time you want to stop (11:59 PM) using the blue keypad, remember to specify AM or PM. Press Enter.

7. There are two possibilities that can be displayed, use the one that works well with
your unit.

a. The display may read:

MO TU WE TH FR SA SU WK 1

The days are located on the blue key pad above the numbers. You can eliminate the days you do not want by pressing the keys (numbers) that correspond with each day.

b. The display may read:

WK 1

If this prompt occurs, then you need to enter the day on which you want to run by pressing the corresponding key ( number) on the keypad.

EXAMPLE: If you want the run day to be Wednesday, use the blue keypad to program Wednesday (WE) in the top of the display. If programmed correctly the display will show:

WE WK 1

Press Enter

8. Press the Pgm Set button on the blue keypad. The display will show:

Enter the current time. Press Enter.

9. The display will show:

WK 1

Enter the current day. Press Enter

The sampling program is now complete.

10 . Switch the Run/Set switch to run.

11. Reset the Elapsed Timer above the blue keypad. It should read 00:00

12.          On the blue keypad Press AUTO

13.        Open the canister valve and record the sample vacuum.

Sample Collection

1.             Take the final pressure reading on the canister.

2 .           Record the total runtime on the elapsed timer.

3. Close the calve on the canister and disconnect from the sampler.
