What: Trash Talk Field Trip

Cost of transportation (up to $255 per bus) subsidized by Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District for those schools registered in the District’s Recycling Assistance Program (RAP).

Where: Rumpke Material Recovery Facility (5535 Vine Street, Cincinnati OH 45217) and Rumpke Landfill (3800 Struble Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45251)

When: The fall and spring of each year. 

Who: Grades 9 through 12. Minimum of 10 students; maximum of 40. Field Trip begins at 9:30 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m. Prepare to arrive at Rumpke's Material Recovery Facility at 9:30 a.m. 

Why: The Trash Talk field trip gives an eye-opening view to students and staff alike during this behind-the-scenes view of Rumpke's state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and their sanitary landfill. Attendees will learn the process items go through on their journey to be recycled, as well as seeing the landscape of our landfill in-person.

How: To apply for the trip:

Step 2: Complete the below pre-registration form. Hint: Print form prior to submitting for your records.

Step 3: Student Reflections must be submitted within 10 days of field trip.

Field trips are limited to not more than four trips per school, per year. Application stays open as long as space is still available.
