Please note that the District has not audited all the facilities listed on this page. Before using any computer recycler, make sure to conduct due diligence on the company. You are ultimately responsible for proper disposal of electronic equipment. Recyclers should provide a certificate of recycling and be able to tell you where each piece of demanufactured equipment is sent.

Some of the below locations accept microwaves. For a complete list of recyclers that accept microwaves, click here.

Please confirm acceptance prior to dropping off material as  businesses often change what they accept and/or pricing.

Picks up ewaste and other items and  donates to organizations and charities in need, or sent to be recycled or refurbished leaving only minimal amount that is disposed. Check website for acceptable items.

Tech Trade-In: Visit www.bestbuytradein.com to trade in select gently used electronics for a Best Buy gift card. Customers may drop off up to two devices per day at any of 1,006 stores throughout the United States. They will accept most consumer electronics, including televisions and monitors up to 32 inches (fee for TVs & monitors), desktop computers, notebooks, videocassette recorders, DVD players and phones. Appliances are not covered under the program.

Blair Technology Group is an ITAD and recycling service that offers recycling services for both business and residential customers. They accept consumer electronics and batteries. They offer free pick up to businesses as well as hard drive sanitizing/destruction to any  customers who have concerns about data privacy. Due to the cost of recycling, there may be a charge to recycle CRT and Plasma displays, toner cartridges, and alkaline batteries. 

Cincinnati Computer Cooperative (C3)

C3 is a 501c3 non-profit accepting all computers, newer Pentium III and Pentium IV computers will be refurbished and offered to schools, nonprofits, students and/or seniors in need. Older or broken computers will be stripped and recycled. All hard drives are wiped or destroyed.

TVs, computer monitors, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, and air conditioners require per item drop-off fees to cover the disposal costs for the hazardous waste components of those items.
